Dinosaur Designs | The Art of Black & White

We just love the new colour collection The Art of Black and White by Dinosaur Designs Creative Directors, Louise Olsen and Stephen Ormandy.

Taking inspiration from one of our favourite artists Jackson Pollock and his drip type technique Olsen and Ormandy used a painterly and delicate technique to achieve the artistic placement of the black on top of the white pearl snow resin. The vase and bone choker are both very Pollock like in their artistic form

“When you reduce elements to black and white the form of each piece is really highlighted as is the casting”, explains Olsen.

Taking inspiration from black and white photography by Edward Weston, Olsen was keen to explore the powerful and paired back nature of the two tones. Photographer Eryca Green shot the entire range in countryside Bega, New South Wales – in a setting not unlike Pollock’s famous South Hampton countryside.

You can check the new collection out now in the Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, New York and Online stores.
